Swedish captain, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, will now play for Paris St Germain after the club reached an agreement with AC Milan yesterday, July 18.
“An agreement has been reached and he (Ibrahimovic) will be having his medical tomorrow (Wednesday). It’s a great year for PSG. That such a great player is coming here is enormous, it can change everything,” said the Ligue 1 club’s general manager, Leonardo.
AC Milan’s owner, Silvio Berlusconi, announced last week that he had sold Ibrahimovic, top scorer in Serie A last season, and defender Thiago Silva to PSG. This big-spending French club was taken over by Qatari investors last year and since then have begun acquiring top and expensive players. Their attempts to acquire David Beckham, however, had failed.
Media reports suggest Ibrahimovic will be paid around 254, 395 euros per week in Paris as the club seeks to play a major role in Europe. Having finished second in Ligue 1 last term, it will go on to play in the Champions League next.
PSG has announced on its official website that it would hold a press conference to present the striker after the medicals have been completed today.
