The UN says the peace plan for Syria is on track despite numerous reports of violations on the ground.

Activists claim that on Friday as many as 37 people were killed included 10 in the Damascus suburbs of Tadamun and Kafr Soufa.

40 unarmed UN observers have been deployed throughout Syria and the plan is to have 300 in place by the end of the month.

A spokesman for UN-Arab League envoy Kofi Annan says the crisis has been going on for a year and that the problem will not be resolved in a day or a week, but he insisted there are small signs of compliance.
