King's Speech opens in London's West End

The King’s Speech was last year’s major cinematic success, winning many awards including seven BAFTAs and four Oscars.

Colin Firth portrayed the stammering King George VI to critical acclaim, while Geoffrey Rush won plaudits for his role as the maverick Australian speech therapist Lionel Logue.

Now The King’s Speech is moving back to the stage, and has just openedat the Wyndham Theatre in London.

Playwright David Seidler wrote the screenplay for the movie and took charge of this theatrical adaptation, too.
