British actress Helen Mirren avoided the Oscars ceremony and instead headed to Italy for Milan Fashion Week.

The 66-year-old, who’s perhaps best known for her role as ‘The Queen’ in the movie of the same name, had a front row seat for the Dolce & Gabbana show.

Mirren was joined by Italian actress and fashion muse Monica Bellucci at the Milan Metropole.

D&G mixed golden embroideries and cherubs inspired by Baroque paintings in their new season designs.

Fashion house Frankie Morello paid tribute to American rock’n‘roll in its 2012 autumn-winter show. Designers picked black bikers’ jackets for their “bad girls”.

Meanwhile Italian designer Giorgio Armani created the 20s-look collection around knee-length trousers and large flat taffeta roses that were put on blouses and dresses.
