Police continued to question Dominique Strauss-Kahn on Wednesday.

After an undignified night in jail, as prosecutors used their powers for a 48-hour detention to the full, the former IMF head will be cleared or face charges.

In was at Strauss-Kahn’s insistence that the Lille police hear his version of the events that went on for years in the northern French city’s Carlton Hotel.

It is claimed that DSK — as he is known — and others romped with prostitutes who he knew had been obtained by friends of his who are on trial for running a prostitution ring.

In questioning on Tuesday Strauss-Kahn’s lawyer said his client had said it was difficult to tell between a “classy woman and a prostitute when they were both naked”.
