There is disruption at Europe’s third busiest airport after workers who guide planes in and out of their parking positions at Frankfurt went on strike.
A walkout over pay which started on Thursday afternoon will be followed by further stoppages on Friday.
Striking staff say that last year’s opening of a fourth runway has made their job more complex and that this should be reflected in their salaries.
Management at Frankfurt, Germany’s biggest airport, hope to guarantee 50 per cent of traffic over the two days. But German flagship carrier Lufthansa has already cancelled up to 100 flights.
