The US Navy says they’ve rescued an Iranian fishing boat which had been captured by suspected Somali pirates.

American forces on the guided-missile destroyer USS Kidd responded to a distress call from the ship, the Al Molai.

The 13 member crew said they’d been held hostage for more than 40 days.

The navy detained 15 pirates who were using the vessel as a “mother ship” for pirating operations in the Persian Gulf.
