Pop star Katy Perry has picked up three awards, including the night’s top prize of video of the year, at MTV’s annual Video Music Awards ceremony in Los Angeles.

Dressed as her male alter ego Joe Calderone, Lady Gaga did not disappoint her fans either, coming away with two awards for her song “Born this Way”.

But it was Beyoncé‘s unexpected showing off of her baby bump that stole the show. Clearly proud of her pregnancy, she smiled broadly and rubbed her tummy at the end of her set.

Pop star Bruno Mars also took to the stage to pay tribute to Amy Winehouse. The 27-year-old singer was found dead at her London home last month. Legendary crooner Tony Bennett also introduced a video montage of duets he performed with Winehouse.
