A convicted child murderer on Thursday won damages of 3,000 euros after police threatened to torture him.

Magnus Gafgen won the payout after detectives threatened him with “unimaginable pain” unless he revealed the whereabouts of 11-year-old Jakob von Metzler.

Officers believed Gafgen’s victim was still alive at the time.
