At least another three people died in Syria on Saturday and thousands of people attended the funerals of at least 70 who died on Friday, the worst day of violence so far in nearly three months of civil unrest.

Hama 24 hours ago was a sea of people marching in streets that in 1982 ran with blood as President Bashar al-Assad’s father put down a revolt that cost tens of thousands of lives.

On Friday at least 60 of the city’s residents perished, and on Saturday the Syrian Human Rights watchdog says they were buried with an estimated crowd of 100,000 mourners.
