The Cannes Film Festival attracts a multitude of characters drawn by the sea, sun, glamour and clammer to the French Riviera each year.
The last two films gunning for the Palme d’Or took centre stage on the final day of competition on Saturday.
‘The Source’ is a comedy/drama by the Romanian born French director Radu Mihaileanu, set in a village where the women withdraw from the marital bed if their men refuse to collect water for a distant well.
The Turkish film ‘Once Upon a Time in Anatolia’ by Nuri Ceylan tells the tale of doctor living on the steppes of Anatolia.
Both will learn their fate later on Sunday.
