Libya has declared an immediate ceasefire.

The development comes after the United Nations Security Council passed a resolution on Thursday paving the way for a no-fly zone and possible military intervention.

Libyan Foreign Minister, Mussa Kussa, said “Libya has decided on an immediate ceasefire and stoppage of all military operations. The government of the people takes a great interest in protecting civilians and offering them all necessary humanitarian aid”.

British Prime Minister, David Cameron, said Britain would judge Gaddafi by actions on the ground in Libya.
