As many as 37 people have been killed following a suicide attack on an army recruitment centre in Kunduz in the north of Afghanistan.

Forty new recruits are believed to be injured.

Violence is spreading across the once peaceful north of the country; last week a police chief was killed by a suicide bomber while on patrol in Kunduz.
