Soul legend Solomon Burke dies at Dutch airport

The US soul singer Soloman Burke has died at the age of 70.

The self-proclaimed King of Rock and Soul was pronounced dead at Amsterdam’s Schipol Airport after arriving on a flight from Los Angeles.

Burke was due to perform in a concert in Amsterdam on Tuesday.

In April the Grammy award winner released a new album called Nothing’s Impossible.

Burke joined the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2001.
