Germany is preparing to celebrate the twenth anniversary of its reunification on Sunday.

Chancellor Angela Merkel and German President Christian Wulff will take part in the Unity Day celebrations.

The festivities are being held in Bremen this year.

Authorities warn they expect protests from left-wing groups could turn violent.

Up to 3,000 police officers will patrol the city centre after threats of arson and sabotage were posted on leftist websites.
