Mexicana, one of Mexico’s two major airlines is set to cease operations. The country’s transport minister has confirmed most of its planes will stop flying by midday.

New owners took over the company last week and have struggled to restructure the airline’s 625 million euros debt.

Mexicana planes have been flying for 89 years, now passengers fear they could be left stranded.
