French authorities have demolished an illegal Roma camp in Lille, northern France.

Its occupants don’t want to leave. They claim they will be mistreated if they go back to Romana.

With their makeshift houses razed to the ground, the Roma are forced to live in tents.

Some of the luckier ones have found shelter in a former Catholic school but all of them face an uncertain future.
