A series of bombs has exploded in Baghdad, killing at least sixty-seven people. Police say more than a hundred have also been wounded.

The blasts hit Shi’ite areas of the Iraqi capital, including the Sadr City slum. A market and outdoor mosques, busy for Friday prayers, were also targets.

These attacks follow successful joint US and Iraqi operations, including one in which three high ranking Iraqi Al Qaida leaders were killed.
