German exports rose for the fourth time in five months in September, new official data shows.

Adjusted for seasonal factors, exports were nearly 58.4 billion euros, up by 5.8 percent from August. However their contribution to Germany’s economic growth in the third quarter is likely to be slight, because there was also a surge in imports. They recorded their biggest rise since July last year.
