American actor Dennis Hopper is battling prostate cancer and has cancelled all travel plans to focus on treatment, according to his manager.

The veteran star was released from hospital earlier this month after suffering flu-like symptoms and dehydration. Hopper has pulled out of a trip to Australia for an exhibition of his artwork and photography. His long list of movie credits includes “Easy Rider”, “Blue Velvet” and “Apocalypse Now”. Hopper is reportedly receiving treatment at the University of Southern California. His manager Sam Maydew is quoted as saying: “We are hoping for the best.”
