Inherit the Wind

As part of a whole raft of events marking the 200th anniversary of Darwin’s birth, Trevor Nunn is directing Kevin Spacey and David Troughton in “Inherit the Wind” at the Old Vic in London.

The play was written by Jerome Lawrence and Robert E Lee in 1955 and made into a film starring Gene Kelly and Spencer Tracy five years later. A classic of its kind (wordy and intellectual) the play nevertheless stands the test of time – perhaps because the subject matter remains so pertinent. In any case, as is usual whe Kevin Spacey decides to get slapped up and don a wig, bums are queuing round the block to get onto seats. The production runs until 20th December.
