He is a regular at the Venice Film Festival but this year George Clooney didn’t come alone.
The American actor was joined by his latest love interest, Italian TV presenter Elisabetta Canalis. Their arrival delighted reporters. Fans too couldn’t get enough of the actor, who was sporting a bandage after apparently hurting his hand in a car door. He was presenting “The Men Who Stare at Goats.” Starring alongside Ewan McGregor, Clooney plays a New Age hippie soldier trained for psychic, peaceful combat in a comedy set during the war in Iraq. Israeli director Samuel Maoz meanwhile presented “Lebanon” – a film not recommended for claustrophobics. Set in the 1982 Lebanon war, most of the action is shot from inside a tank.
