The European election juggernaut gathers momentum today with voters in several more states casting their ballots.
People in Britain and the Netherlands voted on Thursday. They were joined by fellow citizens in Ireland and the Czech Republic yesterday. A second day of voting is underway there. Polling is also taking place today in Italy, Slovakia, Latvia, Cyprus and Malta. The rest of the European Union votes on Sunday. In all 375 million people are eligible to vote in the 27 EU states. They are electing 736 representatives to the European Parliament.
