Berlusconi blocks party photo publication

Silvio Berlusconi has successfully blocked the publication of photos from his New Year’s Eve party.

The Italian prime minister has strenuously denied having an affair with a minor who was reportedly at the event. A public prosecutor in Rome stopped publication of the images taken at the billionaire’s Sardinian villa with a long-range camera, arguing permission would have violated his right to privacy. Italy’s press say dozens of young women attended the party thrown by the 72 year old. Berlusconi has been under increasing pressure to explain his relationship with model Noemi Letizia since attending her birthday bash in Naples last month. Berlusconi’s wife, Veronica Lario, has demanded a divorce from her husband, citing his womanising. She has accused him of ‘frequenting minors’, claiming he is ‘not well.
