Thousands of demonstrators denouncing a Communist victory in Moldova’s parliamentary election have stormed the President’s offices and the parliament.
There are unconfirmed reports that one protester has died.
Up to 10,000 protesters mostly students have massed for a second straight day in the capital Chisinau since Sunday’s vote.
Riot police have fired tear gas and water cannon at the protesters who have smashed the parliament’s windows, setting fire to its furniture in the street.
Their anger has been inflamed as it appears the Communists will now have enough seats to ensure their nominee can win the presidential election.
