Russian tax inspectors have reportedly hit BP’s troubled oil joint venture TNK-BP with new demands.
According to a source talking to the Reuters news agency, the officials want information on foreigners seconded to TNK-BP.
The four Russian-connected billionaires who are BP’s partners in the venture have complained about the number of foreigners working for the company.
One senior BP source said. “A lot of my colleagues think the Russians want to grab control of TNK-BP to sell it later at a higher price.”
