Friends and relatives of the two French students murdered in London held a rally in their memory in their home university town of Clermont-Ferrand, as local media reported on the dangers stalking the streets of the British capital.

Nineteen teenagers have died in stabbings in London this year already, not including Gabriel Ferez and his friend Laurent Bonomo. Ferez was stabbed nearly 50 times while Bonomo suffered some 200 wounds. Their bodies were discovered at a burning apartment.

A second man has now been arrested in connection with the murders. He handed himself into a London police station, but is suffering from burns and will not be questioned until doctors deem him fit.

Police believe Bonomo disturbed a thief six days before the killings. Forensic experts have found no sign of forced entry on the night of the murders, suggesting door keys may also have been taken in that previous incident.
