Officials are investigating the sabotage of a NASA computer due to be flown to the International Space Station aboard the space shuttle Endeavour. Space operations chief Bill Gerstenmaier says the hardware was due to go into space on August 7.
“There was some intentional damage done internal to a Qual unit,” he said. “We then inspected the flight unit and determined that some wires were cut on the inside of that unit. It’s currently being investigated by the Inspector General’s office.” Meanwhile, the potentially damaging results of a study into the health of astronauts is due to be released by NASA today. Press reports claim it has been discovered that astronauts were allowed to fly drunk at least twice, despite warnings of the risks.
