Indonesia says it has captured the leader of the notorious militant group Jemaah Islamiah. The man has been named as Zarkarsih, also known as Mbah, or grandfather. Another man arrested two days ago, Abu Dujana, is said to have led a military wing of the group.

Zarkarsih was caught in Yogyakarta in central Java. Officials say the group wants to create an Islamic state across much of Southeast Asia. It was blamed for the 2002 bombings on the resort island of Bali, which killed more than 200 people. It is also thought to have been behind further suicide attacks on Bali in 2005, as well as other bombings in the capital Jakarta.
