Three female teachers, a caretaker and two men have been arrested by Italian police investigating allegations of child sexual abuse. This primary school on the outskirts of Rome is at the centre of claims that at least five children were drugged and abused. Those arrested include the husband of one of the teachers.
“Many think it’s been invented by the families,” says this spokeswoman for the parents. “What’s clear is the children weren’t well and someone had abused them.” One of the teachers has protested her innocence, saying it’s easy for situations like this to lead to hysteria and mistakes.
