At least 10 people have been injured in scuffles between demonstrators and the Israeli army in a village on the path of the West Bank Wall. Protestors including Israeli peace activists and foreigners have been gathering in Bilin for the past two years to demonstrate against the barrier which they say cuts farmers off from their land.

Israel has reportedly confiscated 60 percent of the village to build the wall, which plans to stretch in and around the West Bank to stop suicide bombers from entering Israeli cities. Palestinians condemn it as an attempt to take over land captured by Israel in 1967 in a move which would deny them a viable state. The World Court has declared the wall illegal. The Israeli Supreme Court rejected the ruling but ordered parts of it to be re-routed.
