Israeli air strikes have levelled a two storey building in the town of Mashgara in the eastern Bekaa Valley. Lebanese security officials say seven people from the same family were killed in the attack, their bodies buried under the rubble. An 80 year old man, the head of the family, survived but was seriously injured. The Israeli Defence Force also struck the largest Palestinian refugee camp in Lebanon at Ein el-Hilweh near Sidon, killing at least two people, its reported.

In return, Hizbollah rockets continued to rain down on targets in northern Israel and the occupied West Bank, but no casualties were reported. Israel is, however, pressing ahead with an offensive in the Gaza Strip. A helicopter gunship fired into a palestinian training camp, killing two gunmen and a young girl.
