Emergency workers at the scene of a collapsed ice rink in Germany have recovered the body of a child bringing the death toll to 12. The search continues for three others – a woman and two children.
After thirty hours rescuers have now managed to remove most of the roof which collapsed under the weight of heavy snowfalls. The town of Bad Reichenall in Bavaria remains in a state of shock. Children and teenagers account for most of the victims. Emergency crews joined in vigil for those who lost their lives. What caused the tragedy is the subject of a major inquiry. Officials say measurements showed the quantities were within normal safety limits.
