British police are stepping up their manhunt following the double shooting of two female police officers in Bradford on Friday. One policewoman died when the officers responded to an alarm in a travel agents. Up to three men rushed out and opened fire before escaping.
Road blocks are up around the northern English city, and police have vowed they will arrest those responsible. The last female officer to be killed on duty was four years ago, and West Yorkshire police’s David Crompton promises justice will be done.
The killing is another gun crime at a time when Britain’s mainly unarmed police claim these incidents are rising rapidly. Both the Bradford officers were unarmed, and in their first two years of duty.
