Police in India say they are making headway in their investigation to find out who was behind three explosions in the capital New Delhi.
One unknown Kashmiri group has claimed responsibilty for the attacks yesterday and warned of more to come.
Analysts say its probably a front for a larger Pakistani based group likely opposed to the peace proccess with India. Security has been stepped up across the country amid fears militants will unleash more violence.
Several people are being questioned about the bombings but so far no arrests have been made. Government ministers have appealed for calm and advised people to stay away from public areas as the country gears up for major Hindu and Muslim festivals.
But despite the warnings people are starting to trickle back to the bomb site areas. Analysts say the explosions yesterday – two at market places and one by a crowded bus were intended to cause maximum loss of life.
At least 59 people were killed in the triple explosions that went off minutes apart – foreigners are believed to be among the more than 200 people injured.
