A suicide bomber has killed at least two people and injured more than 30 at a shopping centre in Israel. The militant group Islamic Jihad has claimed responsibility for the attack in the coastal city of Netanya. The Palestinian Authority has condemned the explosion along with another bombing in the West Bank which it said appeared to be coordinated terrorist assaults. In that incident, a large blast was reported near a Jewish settlement close to the West Bank city of Nablus. The explosions end a five-month truce by radical militant groups following calls for a ceasefire by Palestinian president Mahmoud Abbas. In other events, Israeli troops and Hizbollah gunmen have exchanged fire on the Israeli-Lebanon border. There was no word of casualties in the reported clash on the western sector of the frontier.
