More than two dozen people have been killed in a series of attacks in and around the northern Iraqi city of Mosul. Within hours, a suicide car bomber struck at a police headquarters, killing at least 6 people, an attack on an Iraqi army base claimed up to 16 lives and then four people died when a bomber walked into Mosul’s General Hospital and blew himself up. This third attack caused damage to the emergency ward where casualties had been brought from the previous incidents. There has also been bloodshed in the northern city of Kirkuk where at least seven Iraqi policemen were wounded in a series of near-simultaneous bombings.
