Islamic group warns Netherlands

Islamic group warns Netherlands
Text size Aa Aa

A little-known group that previously claimed responsibility for last month’s attacks against Israeli tourists in the Sinai has issued a threat against the Netherlands, which is experiencing a wave of anti-Islamic violence. The group warns any more attacks like the one seen on Monday, when a Muslim primary school was bombed, will result in a heavy price being paid. They promise to trigger revenge acts of terrorism.

Since last Tuesday, the country has been shaken by a series of attacks on mosques following the stabbing in broad daylight of a controversial filmmaker. It seems he was killed by a radical Muslim with links to terror groups – in protest at his radical attitudes to Islam. Theo Van Gogh, the great-grandson of the painter Vincent Van Gogh, died after having released his latest broadside on Muslim values – a film about the subordination and brutalising of a woman in a traditional Muslim family.
