Daryl Impey leads into the final stage of the Tour Down Under after finishing second to Richie Porte on Willunga Hill
Australia's Richie Porte won Stage 5 of the Tour Down Under, but it was not enough to claim the race leader's ochre jersey which went to his compatriot Daryl Impey with both riders level on time.
Peter Sagan had been leading overnight, having already won stage 4, but he couldn't maintain the pace on the climb and dropped down the standings.
Porte said it was the hardest climb he'd done of Willunga Hill with crosswinds upping the challenge. But he went on to claim the stage win, dropping his rivals in the final kilometre of the 151.5km race to seal the victory.
Impey led a group home eight-seconds behind Porte with Tom-Jelte Slagter coming in two seconds later for third.
