Two elephants have been demonstrating their calligraphy skills at a zoo in Ichihara, near Tokyo.
In the annual New Year event, a 4-year-old elephant held a brush with its trunk and wrote the Chinese character for "dog" on the white paper.
According to the Chinese zodiac, 2018 is the Year of the Dog.
A 3-year-old elephant painted a picture of a dog.
