The world's most glamorous models hit the runway in Shanghai the first time.

The Victoria Secret Fashion Show features the world’s most glamorous models. They hit the runway in Shanghai on Monday, the first time the show was hosted in China.

For the 22nd year, Victoria’s Secret has assembled 55 of the world’s top supermodels from 20 countries.

Initially, the show was created as a way to advertise lingerie to men before Valentine’s Day. Today it is one of the most celebrated A-list events.

Each year since 1996 one “angel” has modelled the “fantasy bra”. The Lais Ribeiro carried 300 carats down the catwalk. The Champagne Nights Fantasy Bra took nearly 350 hours to create. The bra features diamonds, yellow sapphires and blue topaz and costs € 1.7 million.

Adriana Lima Adriana Lima wowed once again when she first took to the catwalk with her colourful wings. The longest-reigning model for the brand was named the most valuable Victoria’s Secret Angel in 2017. Alessandra Ambrosio walked in her final Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show after more than a decade with the brand.

Portuguese model Sara Sampaio opened the “winter’s tale” segment and turned the annual after-party’s red carpet into another catwalk. She was dressed to the nines in a Naeem Khan dress.

Several of Victoria’s “Angels” and star names who had been expected to attend, were absent, including model Gigi Hadid and pop singer Katy Perry.

Bella Hadid, Gigi’s sister, appeared in the second act of the show. Harry Styles performed at the show with R’n‘B singer Miguel. The extravaganza ended with a tribute to lingerie designs, flying the flag for various cultures.
