Environmental group Friends of the Earth staged protest action outside the European Commission on Thursday (March 30) against the planned merger of German drug and crop chemical maker Bayer and US seeds company Monsanto.
Activists dressed as a bride and groom symbolically tied the knot outside the EU executive’s headquarters in what they called a “marriage made in hell”, while others held signs reading “Hands off our food” and “Break them Up.”
