One month after the UK voted to leave the European Union, the future relationship between the UK and the EU is still uncertain. The First Minister of Scotland, Nicola Sturgeon, has revived the spectre of an independent Scotland and has promised the majority of Scottish voters that opted to stay in the European Union that they would not have to give up their EU status. Meanwhile, the new UK Prime Minister Teresa May paid her first visit to the North of Ireland to reassure Northern Ireland about Brexit fears.

Meanwhile, there is concern in Brussels about the changes in Turkey in the after math of the attempted coup. Although, the EU needs to keep Turkey as a close ally to ensure the EU Turkey migration deal, the European Commission president said this week that if Ankara dared legalise the death penalty, EU membership talks would be cut off.

And finally, the Polish city of Krakow is welcoming nearly two million Catholics between the ages of 16 to 35 this week to celebrate the world youth day.
