WHEN A TUNISIAN YOUNG WOMAN GETS RAPED IN HER COUNTRY;
HAS TUNISIA BECOME A DANGEROUS PLACE FOR ITS CITIZENS?
Good Morning euronews…........,
In earnest I was deeply shocked, yes deeply shocked, when I heard about the young and innocent Tunisian woman who was raped by three Tunisian policemen on
the 3rd of last September-how could such a thing happen in the only Arab and Maghreb country, where women enjoy freedoms not enjoyed by other women. The
Personal Code Status of August 1956,and which came only after five months after
the colonial power granted independence to Tunisia on the 20th of March 1956,is
one of the best achievements of the Tunisian Republic.
Raping of women in Tunisia is not new,but what is truly new,is when Tunisian policemen rape a young woman. It is more than abhorrent.Has Tunisia become a
dangerous place for its citizens ?
I watched the programme in which the raped Tunisian young woman narrated her
tragical rape by the three policemen,on at-Tounisiya Channel last week,in a talk-show,and what I heard was absolutely terrible. The face of the raped woman was
of course not shown, and her voice was changed with the voice of a child, for privacy
reasons, but her story was deeply saddening.
The West must take note of this incident. It is not an ordinary incident,President
al-Marzuki personally apologised to the young woman,on behalf of the Tunisian State, but this is not enough. The re-organisation of the police force in Tunisia must
take effect, and should also be monitored.I repeat; the Tunisian police force must
be monitored.
Thank you euronews.

ON THE NEED TO DIFFERENTIATE BETWEEN FREEDOM OF EXPRESSION
AND THE IGNORANT ACTING ABOUT A GREAT PROPHET.
Good Morning euronews…........,
It has been a while since I did’nt write to you,but believe me euronews,I spent most of my time watching your channel during the last months, and will continue to do so.
It has been a month and a week, since the Islamic uproar that hit most Arab countries and Islamic
ones about the low-budget film dipicting ignorantly the Islamic prophet, Mohammed. It was a wrong move by a coptic christian living in the U.S state of California.I was taken agasp by the sinister move of that coptic christian-but when the U.S Secretary of State Hilary Clinton, and later the U.S President Barack Obama expressed their sincere apologies about the screening of the film, and the clarification that the U.S.A,as a government does not represent the actions of its individuals,we all
knew that America was and will remain a great country.
We denounce what happened, and call on all reasonable people not to touch the holiness of religions
or to make mockery of them whether it was Islam,Christianity,Judaism,Bhuddism,or any other religion.Religion is a red line.
My other message to all those Arabs who attacked the U.S embassies, not to confuse between
the American flag and the actions of some of its mentally-deviated immigrant citizens.America, its
policies and its embassies are one thing and the actions of its individuals are another.
The mockery of religions does not fall under the category of freedom of expression.
One last thing which aroused the curiousity of many moslems is the silence of King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia, his ministers and its clerics in denouncing such a film.Saudi Arabia is the cradle of
Islam and its prophet. One thing for sure now is that the Arabs of other Islamic countries, and moslems of countries not Arab, have proved to be more moslem than those whose country is the cradle of Islam.
Thank you very much euronews.

Dear sirs, this is in order to challenge and refute their news of today in which indicate that
Mr Hugo chavez is leading the polls for the presidency of the Republic of Venezuela.
This in the wake of his supporters who allegedly killed two young people in the vicinity of
the city of Barinas.
Gentlemen. Most polls in Venezuela are purchased by the government, and if they want to
delve into this aspect constaten with independent organizations and scholars of the situation
in the country, as universities who have reputed invetigadores of social fact.
These attitudes taken by its reporter and correspondent of biased trends rather than
contribute to bring transparency to the issue of clarifying aspects of social development in
Venezuela, contributed to mislead the international community and help an autocratic
regime that has already been 14 years in power and back to the social reality of Venezuela.
In this respect I demand as a citizen of Venezuela and the World rectify this mistake delving
into the real situation in Venezuela and the Chavez regime.
Sincerely
Jesus Segovia
Venezuelan citizen.

You seem to have developed a strong pro Israel bias. Understandable when one knows who owns your channel.
You have lost someone who believed in you.
If I want pro-israel, I’ll watch Fox news.

Hello,
Excuse me, please, but I think you have mistakes in English.
Example – Africa – “... gives death sentences…”, why not … gives dead sentences…

What is happening with refugees at Syria-Turkey border after it has been closed by Turkish government at the end of August? Before there had been frequent coverage at euronews on the situation and since then it seems the growing problem with these people has been totally covered, isn’t it

Your latest reportage on 30th anniverary on Shatilla massacre portrays and detailed a lot more the Israeli army, complicity and roles of Ariel Sharon but you did not state any detail about the real perpetrators of this massacre. A brief mention to the Christian militia as having done it, but the weight of the topic was not blaming Lebanon nor its army but mostly the Israeli and later leadership. It was bending opinions to suit a regular slant on euronews that smacks of anti-semitism. However you very rarely carry anything about daily bonbing and attacks from Gaza on Israeli towns but you cover any Israeli retaliatory measures. Please check your edictorial policy on this matter because I like everything else on euronews, probably one of the most objectives stations around. The is still great room for imporvement of coverage on Middle-Eastern affairs and ion particular to editorial content and regular treatment disfavoring Israel, israeli efforts within the international contexts.
