A French journalist wounded in shelling in Syria that killed two other Western journalists is pleading to be evacuated so that she can have essential surgery.

In a video posted on YouTube, Edith Bouvier said her leg is broken in two places and that she has received some medical treatment but now needs an operation.

“The doctors have looked after us very well here, to the best that they can, but they’re not able to carry out any surgery,” Bouvier said.

Bouvier was wounded Wednesday during Syrian forces’ shelling of the opposition stronghold of Homs.

Injured British photographer Paul Conroy of the Sunday Times also appears in the video, asking for assistance.
