Infrared drones are now being used to help track koalas in the wild in Australia. Conservationists are hoping this might hold the key to saving the koala population in New South Wales. At the current rate of loss, koalas in eastern Australia will be extinct by 2050, World Wildlife Fund (WWF) has found. The increasing numbers of bushfires across the country has sped up the decline in numbers.
