The imaginary city made of gingerbread and designed by some of the most innovative UK practices invites visitors to experience contemporary architecture and design at London's Victoria and Albert Museum.

The annual exhibition put together by the Museum of Architecture, showcases architects', designers' and engineers' creations made of gingerbread. Now in its third year, the city is based on a masterplan designed by Tibbalds Planning and Urban Design. The exhibit presents a variety of other architecture and design companies asked to create a city of the future showcasing sustainability, innovation and social responsibility.

"All the materials are mostly edible", says the founder and director of the Museum of Architecture Melissa Woodford talking about the wide variety of houses, office blocks, landmarks and bridges displayed. Even botanical gardens and a cinema have been showcased.

The exhibit opens to the public on Saturday (December 8) and runs through January 6, 2019.
