The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles return to the big screen in the latest addition to the film franchise.

The action comedy brings the comic book and cartoon heroes Michelangelo, Donatello, Leonardo, and Raphael to life as they fight to save New York. The cast celebrated the film’s world premiere at New York’s Madison Square Garden alongside a crowd of enthusiastic and delighted fans.

“It’s fun and it takes inspiration from all the different facets of the ‘Turtles’: the live action films, the cartoons, the comics, everything,” said actor Stephen Amell.

“I mean they took everything that the last movie had and really brought in the comedy, the action, the entertainment and kind of the tone of what the ‘Turtles’ actually are, you know? They’re fun, they’re mutants, they’re ninjas, they’re teenagers, so all that fun that we know and love along with the amazing action to make it bigger, badder, better than the original,” added actor Brian Tee.

Born as comic book characters thirty years ago, the Turtles have been turned into TV series, video games and live-action and CGI-animated movies.

The latest was a 2014 reboot of the film series. US actor Noel Fisher reprises his role as Michelangelo: “That’s the really cool thing about this movie, that we get to focus a lot more on the Turtles, the brotherhood and that’s what gets tested in the movie, the bond that they have, because something comes up in the movie where there’s two very separate choices and half the brothers want to make one choice and half the brothers want to make another choice and it creates a lot of tension.”

Michael Bay is back in the producer’s seat with film and music video director Dave Green directing the movie. ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows’ rolls out in theatres across the globe from May 30th.
