<p>The EU funds a number of projects for disabled people. Here are some of them.</p> <p><a href="http://ec.europa.eu/dgs/education_culture/eve/alfresco/navigate/browse/workspace/SpacesStore/33c30dca-a620-11e0-ab75-27f2469a716f?searchPage=true"><span class="caps">CATCH</span></a> (CZ)</p> <p>Catch links and integrates the world of artistic expression with the world of impairment and disability through different projects.</p> <p><a href="http://ec.europa.eu/dgs/education_culture/eve/alfresco/navigate/browse/workspace/SpacesStore/78e8be90-a623-11e0-ab75-27f2469a716f?searchPage=true"><span class="caps">FRAGILE</span></a> (NO)</p> <p>Based on the experience of the Norwegian choreographer Kjersti Engebrigtsen in dance with blind persons the aim is to link and integrate the world of artistic expression and the world of impairment and disabilities.</p> <p><a href="http://ec.europa.eu/dgs/education_culture/eve/alfresco/navigate/browse/workspace/SpacesStore/09e44c40-6eef-11df-9e36-c1444dabddd4?searchPage=true"><span class="caps">THE</span> <span class="caps">CLOWNDOCTORS</span></a> – performing arts in hospital (AT)</p> <p>Clowndoctors is a group of two actors, who visit the wards of hospitals and care homes to give three to five hour performances that are specially conceived for an audience of seriously ill children or people requiring special care.</p> <p><a href="http://eacea.ec.europa.eu/youth/index_en.php"><span class="caps">YOUTH</span> IN <span class="caps">ACTION</span> <span class="caps">PROGRAMME</span></a></p> <p>This programme has also a very strong focus on supporting handicap and disadvantaged people, especially through the <a href="http://eacea.ec.europa.eu/youth/programme/action2_en.php">European Voluntary Service</a></p> <p>One example from the European Voluntary Service is the <a href="http://ec.europa.eu/dgs/education_culture/eve/alfresco/navigate/browse/workspace/SpacesStore/4c7fad1d-9675-11df-9753-09d3b659ecb8?searchPage=true">Rehabilitation Centre for Disabled Children</a>. The project takes place in <span class="caps">KAAPV</span>, a state institution located in a suburb of Athens, Greece, housing 88 multiply disabled children and young people who have been abandoned by their families.</p>
