Skyscanner sold to Ctrip for $1.75bn
Skyscanner, the British based travel search enterprise, has been bought by the Chinese giant Ctrip.
The online Chinese travel firm paid $1.75bn for the company based in Edinburgh.

Skyscanner provides a best price web-based service by comparing costs across a number of travel sites helping users to find flights, hotels, and hire cars.

The company insists it will remain independent with the same management team.
Co-founder and chief executive Gareth Williams
says Skyscanner will retain a “traveller-first approach.”
While Ctrip expects Skyscanner to complement its position in the global market.
